 Entomology/Pest Management

The Environmental Health Section manages the mosquito and the tick-borne disease prevention programs. Preventive medicine technicians physically identify ticks and mosquitos, coordinating for laboratory support when needed. Identification results for ticks submitted to The US Army Center for Health Promotion in Aberdeen, Maryland is approximately 6 weeks. Patients of tick specimens yielding positive results will be notified by telephone as soon as results are available. Technicians also provide classes on arthropod-borne disease prevention.
